    Wendy M. Bowen is the attorney and sole practitioner of Wendy M. Bowen, Attorney at Law.  The practice is located in Columbia, South Carolina, where she limits her practice to the areas of family law, social security disability, workers' compensation law and appeals.  She is a member of the South Carolina Bar.
    Prior to founding her law firm, Mrs. Bowen worked in private practice as a managing attorney for a local law firm that focused on residential real estate.  She has also worked in government as a prosecuting attorney, and in the non-profit sector as a program director for a domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse center located in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina.
    Mrs. Bowen earned her Juris Doctor from Touro College, Jacob D. Fucshberg Law Center in New York.  While there, she was a member of several student organizations including the Minority Student Bar Association, the Black Law Student Association, and the Women's Bar Association.  She also received the honor of being selected as a Notes and Comments Editor for the Journal of the Suffolk Academy of Law, and also interned with the New York State Attorney General's Office.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of Charleston.
    In 2000, she married Mr. Cornelius Bowen.  They have one daughter, Cortney, and they reside in Blythewood, SC.
